First and foremost, I'd like to state that I am completely aware that some articles are re-published all over the web, with or without a writer's/owner's permission. But when someone copies your work, practically word for word from a personal Christmas greeting of sorts from my niche site, I am totally aghast and dumbfounded!!
Couldn't this so-called
"copycat" (and I'm being "kind" here) write her own X'mas speech? Especially since this particular
"culprit" professes to run an online business by charging her clients for services rendered!! Ah,
Shame On Her!!
Well folks, if you come across my "original" article entitled
"Creatively" Jigsaw Our Way Towards Christmas!! published on December 2, 2009 under the Category "Creative Works" here in my niche site, published anywhere else (with perhaps minor alterations), do remember that you first saw it here on my niche site!!
Listen, it's not that I wanted to "gripe" about it. It's fine if it gets re-published so long as credit is given to my niche site here at
http://www.CreativeThinkingForWomen.com. Or by all means embed the jigsaw puzzles I've selected, or better yet go to the source to select your own pieces and then
WRITE YOUR ARTICLE WITH YOUR OWN WORDS, MORON!!! Man, I'm plenty mad!!! I hope she reads this!!
Don't get me wrong folks. I would not be so angry if it had been "plagiarised" by any ol' stranger. But this particular so-called "internet expert" of sorts is someone I know "personally" who has accused me of intending to plagiarise her work when I was an online "newbie" a little more than a year ago.
Now folks, seriously. Her website theme was on her "Christian" faith and I am NO CHRISTIAN!! Why in blazes would I be interested to blog about "Christianity"?? I have time and again mentioned in both my websites - here in my niche site and over yonder at my alter-ego's blog at
http://www.AkitaWoof.com that I do not wish to put forth my "thoughts and feelings" about 2 particular subjects namely,
POLITICS and
RELIGION - two topics that I wish to stay away from. And I have tried to keep to that promise ever since I went online a little more than a year ago.
Well, I have not exactly refrained from talking about it completely. What you might have come across are statements explaining why I do not see fit to broadcast my personal views online. In my years growing up, I have made friends with people from all "races" and from different "religious" backgrounds, not to mention of opposing "political" beliefs. And as I fervently believe that sentiments surrounding such topics might be a little "sensitive" among friends and being "hot-headed" growing up, I find it totally unnecessary to harp on such topics while socialising lest I make an enemy of everyone I come across.
Now, back to the
"moron" in question. I had kept my silence when I read some of her blog posts condemning "this and that on every little thing" as she is of 'cos entitled to her own "narrow-minded" opinion (frankly, she could be sued for "defamation of character"). But when I came across my personal article being posted in one of her other websites, I decided I will be silent no more. Yes, she runs quite a few websites. And yes, I gave my "2-cents worth" of comments below my "stolen" article, but I doubt she'd have the courage to print them.
Now, my intention was not to waste much precious time and energy ranting about
HER. But, I had to make it clear to all my readers that if you do come across identical content out there, you know who the original source is, right?
As you can observe from the past year or so, I have given credit to all those "creative" writers whose articles have found their way into my niche site. I have many times professed my admiration for their talent in weaving their words together almost to the tune of "Poetry In Motion". Yes, I have become a fan of many a writer on my website.
Perhaps this particular
"offender" is my new found fan?? Hahahahaha, right!! Fan indeed!! I guess I should be absolutely "flattered" that she had "stolen" my "words". Ah... what do you think??
Okay, enough "exercising" of my "brain". Thinking about what she's done gives me such a tremendous HEADACHE!! But, you can surely see the "humour" behind it, can't you??
Ah... like they always say:
Life is Short, so Live and Let Live...
Doris Lim
Doris Lim, the owner of "CreativeThinkingForWomen.com", has only one thing in mind when she started this niche site, and that is to create awareness to the general public that you don't have to be a "rocket scientist" to have "creative thinking". She believes that no one should be thought of as being smarter or more creative just because one possesses a higher education. Of course, that helps a little. But, she believes that anyone can be taught to "think creatively". All one has to do is tap into that brain one has been born with and bring out the creative side. With so much knowledge and information available on the internet nowadays, it will take alot of effort, energy and time to select the best authors/writers, articles, tips and "how-to's" to come together in a creative process in this niche site and make it the "1-Stop Centre for Creative Thinking". And because Doris is a woman, this website will be dedicated to all "women", thus the name "CreativeThinkingForWomen.com" (Softly whispering... "men" are also welcome to visit).
A little bit of history about Doris. Having both an Asian and European background (Chinese and Portuguese), her thoughts are equally governed by both the East as well as the West. That accounts for her love of the English Language (she's being accused of having a British accent when she converses with Americans) and her obsession with Korean television serials (obviously, she has to make do with English subtitles). But, enough chit-chat.
Her credentials stem from her extensive years of experience working with "great minds" who "think creatively" and "act creatively". She has prepared speeches for politicians, consumer activists, assisted authors and researchers in the production of books and newsletters and also dabbled in the advertising and public relations sector.
Thus her quest now - to boldly go where no mind has gone before (no, we're not watching "Star Trek") and seek the BEST stuff out there in the "Cyber World" in order to share with her readers/subscribers, the various aspects of "Creative Thinking".
